Are Ballot Photos Okay?

According to the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board: "Don’t take a picture of your ballot: Some voters want to share pictures of their ballot with friends on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or other photo sharing apps. But under Wisconsin law it is illegal to show your marked ballot to another person, which is what you would be doing if you took a picture and shared it online."

Wisconsin Statute 12.13(1)(f) prohibits electors from showing "his or her marked ballot to any person or places a mark upon the ballot so it is identifiable as his or her ballot." Wisconsin Statute 12.60 provides penalties.
